Join Sentry as a Staff Software Engineer focused on AI Developer Tooling. This cross-functional platform role sits within Platform Engineering and centers on how AI coding agents participate in our software development lifecycle. You will audit Sentry’s internal developer systems to become API-ready for AI agents, prioritize and implement the exposure of those systems, and build the connections that allow tools to operate end-to-end. You’ll design and build harness tooling, context systems, and feedback loops to enable AI-generated, repository-aware pull requests, including automated pre-review checks and PR quality metrics tailored to Sentry’s codebase. You will automate high-volume, low-priority engineering work like security dependency upgrades, minor bug fixes, and routine maintenance to let engineers focus on higher-value work.
