Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer on the Data Infrastructure & Acquisition team. This role covers all aspects of data collection to support model training operations. We build high-quality datasets at petabyte scale with cost efficiency through close collaboration of infrastructure, engineering, and research. Speechify is a fully distributed company with no office.

What you’ll do: - Build and extend data ingestion pipelines to bring new audio sources into our data platform. - Operate and expand cloud infrastructure for ingestion pipelines, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform. - Collaborate with scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality for larger-scale datasets powering next-generation models. - Work with the AI Team and leadership to plan the dataset roadmap for Speechify’s consumer and enterprise products.

An ideal candidate should have: - BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field. - 5+ years of industry experience in software development. - Proficiency with bash and Python in Linux environments. - Proficiency with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP preferred). - Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus. - Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
