Join CERN’s Linear and Non-Linear Optics (LNO) Section within the Accelerator and Beam Physics Group to help shape the future of the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). As part of the Optics Measurement and Correction (OMC) team, you will develop software and analysis tools that enable precise beam‑optics measurements and corrections, and contribute to commissioning procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining and extending the core OMC framework used during LHC commissioning and operation; exploring software solutions to improve the efficiency and capability of optics measurement and corrections; updating accelerator model creation and correction algorithms to leverage new simulation tools; exploring automation for key workflows; developing new GUIs and analysis tools for use in the CERN Control Centre; and participating in the analysis of optics measurements in the accelerators. Requirements include a background in Python software development, familiarity with version control systems (Git), GUI development experience, and knowledge of particle accelerator physics is advantageous. Proficiency in Python and GUI development; ability to test, diagnose, and optimize software; a structured approach and strong teamwork and communication skills; and willingness to learn the other official language (English or French).
