This role builds and maintains the foundational services and cross-platform SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms. Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. Work arrangement: Remote OK. Responsibilities include collaborating with Product Teams to scope projects, reducing scope for faster customer feedback, evaluating UX trade-offs across different product teams, and delivering solutions via cross-platform SDKs. Design and optimize functionality to enable faster loading and smarter parsing by crafting efficient abstractions and improving algorithms. Build cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and data jobs using Kotlin. Ideal candidate traits include systems thinking, the ability to move quickly, focus, and collaboration with designers, marketers, and PMs. Technical stack: Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable), and prior experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
