About the role
METRO Deutschland GmbH is seeking an Inside Sales Manager (m/f/d) to be the first point of contact for our core customers in the hospitality and gastronomy sectors. This on-site role in Cologne involves advising customers by phone on our range and services, strengthening loyalty, and helping to achieve joint sales targets with the field sales team.
Responsibilities
Qualifications: We offer:
- Serve as the primary telephone contact for top regular customers, delivering reliable and proactive support.
- Manage the order processing and ongoing service for delivery customers, coordinating closely with regional delivery locations.
- Identify customer needs and proactively advise on Gastro Service solutions and promotional products.
- Collaborate with the field sales team to develop and execute strategy plans to reach sales targets and execute them with enthusiasm.
- Continuously review actions for success and identify optimization opportunities.
- Work within a cross-functional team including account managers in outside sales, wholesale markets, and delivery.
- Ideally a completed commercial apprenticeship (Kaufmann for Büromanagement or Großhandelskaufmann) or alternative hospitality experience (e.g., restaurant/hotel) or as a cook.
- Quereinsteiger welcome; we support your path to becoming a sales professional.
- Experience in sales/telephone sales (inbound/outbound) is a plus; proficient in MS Office.
- Strong communication skills, sales talent, customer orientation, and the ability to adapt to different conversation partners.
