National Highways is seeking a Programme Delivery Manager to lead a portfolio of tunnels and technology projects within the Region’s in-year capital programme. You will provide direction and line management for a team of Project Managers, ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes, quality, cost, time, customer service levels and health and safety standards, and you will monitor progress against capital expenditure budgets. The role can be based from Guildford, Basingstoke or Maidstone offices, with hybrid working up to 60% remote.

Key responsibilities: - Lead the delivery of tunnels and technology projects from preliminary design to service introduction. - Ensure all projects are delivered within agreed quality, cost and time parameters, meeting customer service levels and safety standards. - Manage the capital expenditure budgets for all projects in scope and enforce sound financial practices. - Identify and deliver efficiencies and drive continuous improvement within your area. - Oversee supplier performance and manage risks and issues to minimise impact on delivery.

About you: - Recognised engineering qualification or substantial experience delivering civil engineering projects and programmes. - Experience delivering high-value capital investment programmes and project portfolios. - Knowledge of technology and tunnels renewal projects; CDM and health and safety regulations. - Knowledge of highways construction and maintenance practices. - Experience in supplier and contract management.
