Gifthealth is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to own one or more domains of the data platform, set the long-term technical direction, and manage a team of senior and mid-level data engineers. This role reports to the Manager, Data Engineering and collaborates with stakeholders across product, engineering, pharmacy operations, compliance, and account management to ensure alignment with business goals, operational excellence, and HIPAA compliance. The position combines hands-on technical work (approximately 65% of time) with people leadership and strategic roadmapping.

Key responsibilities: - Own domains of the data platform (initial focus on ingestion and orchestration), lead the transition from the current ingestion platform, manage connectors and scheduling, and connect raw data to the dbt layer; other domains may include the transformation layer and client-facing data feeds. - Define technical direction for assigned domains, onboard data sources, set incremental modeling standards, decide when to rebuild pipelines, document designs, and review domain work. - Develop 12- to 18-month roadmaps for each domain and establish engineering standards and code review practices. - Manage domain backlogs, prioritize work, and allocate team capacity; ensure timely, accurate client data feeds to manufacturers by building testing, monitoring, and reconciliation processes. - Track domain performance and report to Data, Analytics & AI leadership; lead incident response and post-incident reviews; implement a data quality framework with validation, automated tests, monitoring, alerts,
