Responsibilities

• Provide customer support to walk-in retail and contractor customers
• Assist with product selection, purchases, and phone inquiries
• Advise customers on building material supplies and related materials
• Prepare and process material estimates and orders, including special orders
• Create new customers and build strong vendor relationships
• Estimate delivery dates based on stocking levels and delivery schedules
• Enter new customer information into the POS system (Bistrack)
• Coordinate with shipping and receiving to help manage deliveries
• Assist with loading and unloading lumber and building materials as necessary

Requirements

Job Type: Full-time, 40+ hours/week, day shift; occasional Saturdays

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in retail and/or independent building materials retailer
• Experience with Point-of-Sale software systems
• Strong communication and computer skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds and up to 75 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift
• Some local travel required; no overnight travel
