Speechify is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust backend APIs and services. The Platform team manages a range of systems including payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text-to-speech, and external APIs. You will oversee the full backend API landscape, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining the public TTS API as well as internal APIs for Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Usage Tracking. The ideal candidate has proven backend development experience with TypeScript/Node, direct experience with Google Cloud Platform and knowledge of AWS/Azure, and a track record of delivering high-quality software quickly. Docker experience and proficiency with Kubernetes are a plus. This is a 100% distributed role with no office presence; the role is based remotely from Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
