Lightmatter is seeking a Staff/Sr Staff Technical Program Manager for Hardware Systems in Mountain View, California, with a hybrid work arrangement. This role drives program execution across the Hardware Systems team, coordinating schedules, resource planning, priorities, and cross-functional alignment from design through production. You will collaborate with internal groups such as electrical, mechanical, and software teams, as well as external partners including contract manufacturers, PCB and sheet metal fabricators, and assembly houses, to keep programs on track. Responsibilities include maintaining an integrated hardware development schedule, surfacing priority conflicts, managing team-wide resource loading, coordinating material flow, tracking dependencies, and serving as the primary program interface with external manufacturers. You will represent the HW Systems program in company-wide reviews and ensure timely communication of schedule changes, material needs, and engineering commitments. The role demands hands-on program management with a solid understanding of hardware engineering, excellent communication with engineers and executives, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, 5+ years of hardware/program management experience, experience coordinating with contract manufacturers and ODMs, BOM and material-flow expertise, and proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.
