About the role

Aspect Capital, an award-winning London-based systematic hedge fund managing over $8 billion of client assets, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join its Software Development team. This is an opportunity to work within a well-established group where your primary responsibilities are to translate business requirements into production-ready software solutions using modern development practices. The role operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment aligned with Aspect's ambitious plans.

Essential skills: - 4-6 years of professional software development experience, delivering features from concept to production. - Strong development skills with Java; familiarity with Python or willingness to learn Python. - Excellent collaboration and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-have: - Financial experience and domain knowledge - Python or MATLAB - Experience with cloud and container technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

Develop features across Java, Python, and MATLAB-based systems, integrating with proprietary trading systems and strategic SaaS providers, applying SDLC best practices (e.g., TDD, CI/CD, monitoring)
Understand key features of the expanding range of financial markets Aspect trades support, and the business processes involved
Manage technical projects, working closely with internal business users to break down high-level requirements into feasible technology solutions and identify opportunities to unlock business value
Keep up-to-date with the wider tech community; atten
