About the role

Veepee is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Foundation - Infrastructure Development team in Paris, France. This role will contribute across multiple infrastructure projects including Gaio (GenAI Orchestrator) and VeepeeCloud (our zero-vendor-lock-in private cloud), as well as other internal infrastructure services. You will be embedded in a cross-functional team with SREs, DevOps engineers, and Product Owners. The codebase spans Go, Rust, and Scala, and you will work across these languages as required. You should bring solid engineering judgment, operate confidently in production environments, and leverage AI coding tools as part of your daily workflow.

Responsibilities

Must-have skills:

Design, implement, and maintain production services across multiple infrastructure projects
Participate in architectural discussions and challenge trade-offs
Collaborate with SREs on infrastructure and operational decisions
Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code
Respond to production incidents and contribute to their resolution
Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality standards
Use AI coding agents
5+ years of professional software development experience on large-scale systems
Proficiency in at least one of Go, Rust, or Scala, with willingness to work across all three
Experience with large databases (schema design, query optimization, operational concerns at scale)
Direct experience in production incident management: on-call rotations, war rooms
Hands-on experience with DevOps/SRE tooling: Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, CI
