The University of Miami is hiring for a full-time Senior Project Manager, Construction to operate in Coral Gables, Florida, United States. The Senior Project Manager, Construction directs construction projects and oversees construction staff, architects, engineers and support personnel to ensure facilities are built in accordance with project plans and specifications. Responsibilities include addressing construction phasing, contractor conflicts, and contract compliance; managing submittals and contract changes to ensure timely action; conducting regular progress meetings with contractors, designers and inspectors to review procedures, progress, scheduling and changes; monitoring contractors’ safety programs; reviewing proposed changes to contract documents and interpreting them accurately; ensuring prompt resolution of Notices of Non-Compliance; evaluating contractor schedules and monthly submittals; establishing and maintaining internal controls within the unit and ensuring compliance with University policies; and ensuring staff training on controls and policies. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least seven years of relevant experience; additional requirements include learning agility, teamwork, technical proficiency with common office software, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
