Overview: The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to deliver transportation projects from concept to construction. The role involves coordinating with divisions, project teams, and external stakeholders to drive progress, resolve issues, and ensure successful project delivery. You will lead and mentor a team of project managers and, as needed, consultants on large and complex projects.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Lead, coach, and manage a team of project managers to achieve project goals, deliverables, schedules, and Division expectations.
Proactively manage the scope, schedule, budget, and risk for complex STIP and Non-STIP projects and ensure the overall quality of deliverables.
Independently coordinate project delivery activities across multiple disciplines during the preconstruction phase (environmental studies, design, special provisions, quantities, and final plans).
Communicate and collaborate with staff, divisions, discipline leads, and other internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, resolve challenges, and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Oversee private engineering firms on external projects.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution and five years of progressively responsible experience, including three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
May require registration as a Professional Engineer by the North Carolina Board o
