Senior Data Engineer – Data Foundation & Engineering

Our mission is to rethink online shopping and make it personal and seamless. This role focuses on Data Platform Ownership, core ELT pipelines, and critical reports that support executive decisions and cross-team data initiatives.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Data Platform Ownership: Build, maintain, and advance our new Data Platform (Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and Google Cloud BigQuery). Create a product that serves as a foundation for other data teams, including tooling, monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost controls, testing, CI/CD, and cataloging.
Core-ELT Pipelines: Maintain and optimize the largest pipelines, moving terabytes of data from MySQL in AWS to GBQ nightly, with daytime syncs that avoid impacting source systems.
Core Reports Delivery: Own the most important reports used by executives and other data teams.
Substantial hands-on experience in Data and Software Engineering, with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
Experience building modern data platforms and enabling other engineering teams.
Deep experience with Dagster, dbt, Google BigQuery (GBQ), and AWS (ECS).
Strong software engineering fundamentals (CI/CD, testing, design patterns) applied to data engineering.
Expert SQL and Python skills.
Knowledge of Docker, Terraform/CloudFormation.
Pragmatic, energetic, and team-first with excell
