BigBear.ai is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and operate data management systems for intelligence needs. The successful candidate will design how data is stored, accessed, used, integrated, and managed by different data regimes and digital systems. The position involves collaborating with data users to determine, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems. This on-site role is based in Washington, District of Columbia, or the greater National Capital Region (NCR). An active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is highly desired. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and optimizing data throughput and query performance; participating in selecting backend database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.), configuring and utilizing them, and optimizing the full data pipeline infrastructure to support data volume, ETL, and the required query responsiveness. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; minimum of 8 years of data engineering experience, including recent work; deep experience with data engineering tools and technologies (SQL, NoSQL, HPC, ETL) and with ETL processes for US Government systems.
