The Product Analyst supports the ideation and development of new product features, including expanding and enhancing our telematics program, to improve pricing, competitive position, and ease of doing business for Plymouth Rock's personal lines products in the Direct division's assigned market(s). The role extracts data for analysis and implements new rating plans, telematics improvements, underwriting rules, process improvements, and other initiatives to support profitable growth and market competitiveness. Responsibilities include acting as a Product Management liaison with Underwriting, Customer Care, and Marketing; creating and maintaining product comparisons with competitors via rate manuals and other sources of competitive intelligence; analyzing competitive data, identifying trends, and seeking opportunities to differentiate; collaborating with third-party vendors to achieve goals cost-effectively; conducting cost-benefit analyses of underwriting-related changes; gaining understanding of insurance concepts and processes such as policy rating, rate level indications, actuarial analysis, underwriting and pure premium models; using data tools to analyze business issues and communicating results to the Product Manager; supporting data requests related to products and policy attributes; collaborating with Product Development, State Management, UW Operations & Analytics, and Information Technology to facilitate product and underwriting system changes; and performing other duties as assigned.
