Welch Packaging is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to serve as the technical lead for the organization's enterprise infrastructure, systems architecture, and cloud technologies. This role will design, implement, secure, and support highly available IT systems that enable business operations across Elkhart, Indiana and other locations. You will provide strategic direction for infrastructure initiatives, establish engineering standards, mentor technical staff, and partner with business and IT leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions.

Welch Packaging is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to serve as the technical lead for the organization's enterprise infrastructure, systems architecture, and cloud technologies. This role will design, implement, secure, and support highly available IT systems that enable business operations across Elkhart, Indiana and other locations. You will provide strategic direction for infrastructure initiatives, establish engineering standards, mentor technical staff, and partner with business and IT leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions.

Key responsibilities include leading the architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise server, storage, virtualization, cloud, and endpoint infrastructure; developing and maintaining enterprise standards for systems engineering, security, performance, disaster recovery, and documentation; serving as the technical lead for complex infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives; evaluating business and technical requirements to recommend scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions; designing and managing Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization platforms, backup solutions, and enterprise storage environments; leading infrastructure planning for high availability, business continuity, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity initiatives; monitoring and optimizing system performance, capacity, and reliability while identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement; collaboratin
