In this principal-level role, you will set the technical direction, architecture, and design of high-performance, scalable networking platforms that power the Elastic Stack. You will own work on Ingress, private connectivity, DNS, and security controls at scale, driving initiatives from proposal through general availability. You will lead cross-organizational projects, improve operational quality, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor engineers across the team while serving as a trusted technical advisor. You will collaborate with product management and senior engineering stakeholders to evaluate trade-offs and roadmap direction, and you will champion improvements to security, stability, and cost efficiency. Ideal candidates have deep expertise in cloud-native architecture and distributed systems, experience building large-scale services, and a track record of delivering end-to-end projects. Bonus points for hands-on Kubernetes networking experience (Cilium, external-dns, Envoy Gateway, Crossplane) and familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their networking ecosystems. Compensation is base salary with a typical starting range of €84,300–€109,500 EUR.
