About the role

Levi9 is seeking a Medior Software Engineer to join our backend team building Python microservices for a leading Dutch shipping platform. You will work on event-driven services that process high volumes of carrier and parcel data in near real time, implement backend integrations with external carrier systems, and develop data pipelines that turn operational data into reporting and automation. You will own features end-to-end—from design and implementation through deployment and production monitoring. The team is a mix of senior and mid-level engineers working with a Scrum Master and the core platform and middleware teams.

Levi9 is seeking a Medior Software Engineer to join our backend team building Python microservices for a leading Dutch shipping platform. You will work on event-driven services that process high volumes of carrier and parcel data in near real time, implement backend integrations with external carrier systems, and develop data pipelines that turn operational data into reporting and automation. You will own features end-to-end—from design and implementation through deployment and production monitoring. The team is a mix of senior and mid-level engineers working with a Scrum Master and the core platform and middleware teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Python microservices (Python 3.12+) using a modern web framework (FastAPI, Django/DRF, or django-ninja)
Build event-driven services and data pipelines
Implement RESTful APIs and integrations with external carrier systems
Design for reliability, performance, and maintainability; write tests; participate in code reviews
Manage deployment processes (Docker, CI/CD) and monitor services in production
Collaborate with an international, English-speaking team; communicate effectively with stakeholders
Own features end-to-end from design to production monitoring

Requirements

Python 3.12+
Proficiency with a modern web framework (FastAPI, Django/DRF, or django-ninja)
2+ years of commercial experience building and deploying web applications and APIs
Solid PostgreSQL knowledge and relational database design
Experience with unit testing, debugging, and code reviews
Experience with Docker and CI/CD workf
