Role Overview: As a Materials Customer Support Specialist at Landstar, you will serve as a trusted resource for Owner Operators (Business Capacity Owners), customers, Landstar Agents, and shippers by helping them navigate hazardous materials regulations and maintain compliance. You will review shipping documents, investigate compliance issues, provide guidance and coaching, assist with required training, and follow up to ensure regulatory requirements are met. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Candidates with compliance or regulatory experience across industries are encouraged to apply, as well as those with other relevant experience. Responsibilities include: review hazmat shipping papers for required entries in accordance with regulations; identify root causes of hazmat violations on shipping papers and DOT roadside inspections; resolve hazardous material non-compliance issues by counseling internal/external customers including owner operators, shippers, and agents; monitor and follow up to ensure ongoing compliance with company requirements and regulations; assist internal/external customers with online training; prepare and submit challenges for incorrect violations issued on roadside inspections; notify trainees of recurrent hazmat training due dates and follow up; document Hazmat Helpline calls and counseling;
