About the role

IFS is seeking a Lead/Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Asset Management team in London, United Kingdom. In this role, you will design, build and evolve modern, production-grade enterprise software, delivering scalable and secure solutions that address real customer challenges. You will apply AI capabilities to create tangible business value, focusing on production AI systems rather than AI research. You will collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering teams, mentor engineers, and drive engineering excellence to shape the future of enterprise software at IFS. The position offers hybrid work in London.

What you'll do: - Design and implement distributed systems, microservices and RESTful APIs using Go and modern backend technologies; TypeScript/Node.js experience is a plus. - Build cloud-native applications on AWS and/or Azure, using Kubernetes, Kafka/Redpanda, PostgreSQL and MongoDB. - Apply Domain-Driven Design, bounded contexts, event-driven architectures and service decomposition. - Ensure CI/CD, automated testing, observability and production operations; apply DevSecOps principles. - Integrate AI capabilities into production software, including experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), tool calling and agentic workflows; evaluate AI features for quality, reliability, security and operational readiness. - Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to improve development workflows and promote responsible AI practices.
