Multnomah County’s Department of County Assets (DCA) Information Technology Division is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to join the IT Help Desk and Operations team. This frontline role provides prompt, accurate technical assistance to county staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, VPN, and network issues over phone and email. You will use tools such as Active Directory, SCCM, and remote support software to resolve the majority of requests on first contact and escalate more complex problems as needed. Responsibilities include maintaining thorough ticket documentation in ServiceNow, contributing to Knowledge Base articles, and collaborating on quality-improvement initiatives. The position is primarily telework with hybrid or in-office options and on-site attendance during two months of training. Location: Portland, Oregon. Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience, at least 3 years of customer service experience delivering professional, inclusive support, and experience troubleshooting Tier 1 and 2 issues across laptops, mobile devices, software, VPNs, printers, and networks. This is a union-represented, full-time hourly position (AFSCME Local 88) with overtime eligibility.
