General Ledger Accountant – Tamworth, United Kingdom (Remote) – Six-month contract

We are seeking a General Ledger Accountant to support our UK operations. This fully remote role reports to the Finance function and focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities: - Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments. - Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany transactions and fixed asset accounting. - Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis. - Review profit and loss and balance sheet accounts for accuracy and compliance with company policies. - Prepare and submit monthly VAT reports and returns. - Assist with statutory accounts, management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. - Ensure IFRS compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness. - Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and drive standardisation. - Collaborate with finance colleagues and stakeholders across multiple countries and business units.
