The role sits on a small, dynamic team building cloud-managed access control systems; we are creating embedded devices with screens and you will build intuitive user interfaces for these devices, delivering experiences in a constrained hardware environment and helping develop a UI framework for Verkada screen devices now and in the future. You’ll join a startup within a startup, with ownership and autonomy, collaborating with engineers and UX designers to ship high-quality products. What you’ll do: tackle large, complex problems with minimal direction, learn new technologies while taking technical ownership of major product components, and grow with a fast-growing startup. What you bring: BS or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field; 3+ years of UI development on embedded devices, video games, or mobile applications; Android development experience is preferred but optional; proficient in C/C++; strong sense of visual design and UX; excited by new products and startups; focus on delivering best-in-class products and experiences, not just features; able to take a less-than-fully fleshed-out product idea and drive it to completion; willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
