Wabtec's Digital Onboard Solutions Engineering (DOSE) team is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II to design, develop, and test embedded software components for rail solutions. You will collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team to deliver high-quality software that meets system, functional, and cybersecurity requirements. You will participate in requirements and design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, and software releases following DOSE processes. Responsibilities include designing and developing embedded software applications, performing requirement and design reviews, creating and maintaining documentation, and contributing to the full software development lifecycle with automated testing and cybersecurity considerations. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience; proficiency in C and C++, experience with Bash, Python or other scripting languages, and familiarity with Linux or Unix-based RTOS (e.g., QNX, FreeRTOS). Knowledge of device drivers, Board Support Packages, SDLC, CI, Agile Scrum, and safety-critical software and rail industry standards is a plus. Location: Germantown, Maryland, United States. On-site work.
