The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) seeks a Data Scientist to join the Data Operations, Systems, and Analytics (DOSA) team within the Research, Implementation, and Safety (RIS) unit. The role involves developing data management systems, producing data products for operational units, and performing analyses to inform Vision Zero initiatives and the Bus Action Plan. Responsibilities include planning and conducting research and analyses related to transportation safety and policy, delivering data products to inform Vision Zero and Bus Priority planning, and collaborating with and supervising staff to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences. You will conduct data mining and analysis, build predictive machine learning models, perform ad-hoc analyses, and contribute to ongoing data initiatives to support data-driven decision making across the agency. The position is located at 55 Water Street, New York, NY 10041, with a 35-hour workweek from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role may be eligible for remote work up to two days per week under the Remote Work Pilot Program.
