About the role

GitHub is seeking an experienced Data Analyst focused on billing and revenue analytics to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and storytelling through dashboards. You will act as a trusted advisor to Finance and business stakeholders, guiding senior decision making by analyzing revenue, billing, and transactional data. You will lead the development of efficient, reusable analytical models related to revenue recognition and billing accuracy, and champion data integrity and governance across teams.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Develop, maintain, and enhance revenue reporting across products, geographies, and segments to identify growth drivers, performance trends, and risks.
Partner with Sales Operations and Finance to analyze commissions, quota attainment, and incentive plan effectiveness.
Build models and dashboards connecting pipeline metrics, bookings, and billed revenue to improve forecast accuracy.
Consolidate data from Salesforce, billing platforms, and financial systems into a single source of truth for revenue reporting.
Provide data-driven recommendations for territory alignment, quota setting, and incentive plan design.
Deliver executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and presentations with revenue and commission insights.
Automate recurring revenue and commission reports to enable self-service usage.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and data privacy in reporting.
3+ years in data analysis and reporting, data science, BI, or related fields; or a degree plus 1+ year experience; equivalent experience accepted.
