The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) team builds the container and virtualization runtime technology powering Apple's compute platform in Seattle, United States. We are seeking strong systems engineers to design and develop virtualization-based runtimes that run Virtual Machines and Linux Containers across Apple's data centers and platforms, with privacy, security, and performance as primary requirements. This foundational work covers kernel and container security, image distribution, filesystems, and virtualization. Beyond the data center, we maintain Apple Container, an open-source project enabling developers to run containers natively on macOS desktops. We are hiring multiple roles on the team at both junior and senior levels for engineers who enjoy tackling complex systems problems and want to contribute foundational technology used across Apple and the open-source community.
