About the role

Cloud Engineer at GDIT. Deliver simple solutions to complex problems by tailoring cutting-edge cloud and DevOps solutions to client requirements. This role supports USSOCOM at Fort Liberty, NC, with a focus on distributed and managed services, automation of installation, configuration and maintenance of platform services, and release management to support new features while assisting users.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency; automate installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services; oversee software releases and feature support.
Perform administrative operations of server hardware and software; ensure system security and implement security practices.
Troubleshoot system-related problems; stay current with operating systems and software developments; recommend future directions to management.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience; develop or modify software to enhance operating systems.
5+ years of IT and/or software experience.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred).
Experience with Kubernetes; agile development; CI/CD tools (Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or similar).
Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi/NSX-T; networking (load balancing, DNS, SSL, firewalls, NAT, SDN); Git; release management.
Linux and Windows operating systems knowledge; Ansible and Packer; DISA STIGs.
Desired: cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP/OpenStack), additional automation tools, DNS/NTP/SAML/OAuth 2/AD, monitoring tools, databases.
