JobLeads is looking for an AI Engineer to build the intelligence behind candidate and job matching. You will design and implement retrieval systems at scale (embeddings, hybrid search, ranking and re-ranking), shape the vector search backbone, and develop LLM pipelines for understanding queries, resumes, and jobs. You will evaluate performance scientifically—curating benchmark datasets, designing LLM-as-judge setups, and selecting metrics that reflect real user impact. You will own end-to-end pipelines from data to deployment, collaborating with engineers to bring winning approaches to production and running AB tests. You will track latency, cost per query, and quality, and communicate results to product managers and stakeholders. The role is based in Hamburg, Germany, and is fully remote within Germany. Requirements include a degree in Computer Science or AI and hands-on experience with applied ML or LLM systems, Python proficiency, experiment design, and strong communication. Nice-to-haves include published work or OSS contributions and experience with latency-sensitive production ML and A/B testing.
