This Remote OK role is based in Denver, Colorado, United States, with collaboration across product, engineering, and analytics teams to deliver reliable, high-performance services using AWS Lambda, Redshift, RDS, S3, Glue, and more.

Key responsibilities include: - Backend systems development: build scalable internal applications with AWS, Python, SQL, stored procedures, Step Functions, Lambda, API Gateway, and Glue; create serverless functions and microservices; partner with data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. - Data processing, integration, and design: develop scalable data architectures, data lakes and data warehouses; build ETL pipelines with AWS Glue and Python; integrate APIs, batch jobs, and real-time data streams using Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, Step Functions, and S3. - Cloud infrastructure: manage AWS services (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, Redshift, RDS, S3, Kinesis); administer Redshift, PostgreSQL, and MySQL (RDS/Aurora); monitor and tune for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency; implement caching and partitioning. - Security and compliance: ensure backend services and data flows meet HIPAA and other regulatory standards; implement robust access control and data protection. - Collaboration and leadership: work with product managers, data analysts, and engineers; provide technical guidance and mentorship within the development team; contribute to architectural decisions and development standards. - Continuous improvem
