Overview: Ciklum is seeking a Java Engineer to join our client’s team in Ukraine on a full-time basis. As a bespoke product engineering company, we support multinational organizations and scaling startups by delivering technology that solves complex business challenges. With a global team of over 4,000 professionals, we engineer solutions that redefine industries and shape the way people live.

Role and Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain, and scale backend services using Java and Kotlin - Implement data migrations and support the Unified Database transition - Write highly testable code for partner risk assessment flows and collaborate with compliance teams - Contribute to event-driven and microservices architectures - Write, maintain, and deploy quality code in an agile environment - Collaborate with modern software teams, owning and contributing to processes, standards, and designs - Align workstreams with product goals and transparently communicate progress to the team and Technology Manager - Propose and implement improvements to processes, designs, and engineering practices - Ensure changes are supported through to production and validated in production

Requirements

Personal skills:

Strong fundamentals in Java and Kotlin
Advanced database modeling and migrations
Experience with event-driven architectures
Experience delivering high-quality software using established best practices
Ability to work independently and collaborate to solve complex problems
Experience in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
Strong communication and critical thinking skills
