Team Lead is responsible for directing department associates in merchandising, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, stocking, and customer service activities. This role reports to the Group Sales or Department Manager and leads daily department operations to achieve departmental sales, gross margin, inventory shrinkage, and payroll goals. Key duties include supervising staff, preparing to-do lists, executing merchandising directives, maintaining plan-o-grams, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. The Team Lead assists with staffing, interviewing and candidate recommendations, coordinating training, and preparing weekly work schedules; coaches and motivates associates to promote excellent customer relations and a productive team environment. The role requires maintaining product knowledge, conducting product demonstrations, and coordinating with the GSM/DM and HR Manager on performance appraisals and employee relations. Additional responsibilities include maintaining pricing/inventory accuracy for specials, assisting with events, and upholding company policies and applicable laws.
