Staff Software Engineer (Java) – Podcast Monetization (On-site in Bucharest, Romania)

SiriusXM Media and its AdsWizz division are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a high-performing backend engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices that power AdsWizz products for podcast monetization, automate data onboarding, and provide reliable production support across the SXM Media stack.

What you’ll do: - Design and build high-performance, scalable backend systems for AdsWizz in an enterprise setting. - Develop and maintain technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing within the team. - Collaborate with engineers across teams to deliver software through a collaborative development process. - Take ownership of tasks, provide clear direction, and drive projects to completion. - Coordinate with Product and Global Operations teams to clarify project scope and ensure smooth production deployments; support the Incident Management team. - Mentor junior engineers and new teammates.

What you’ll need: - 7+ years of software engineering experience in Java (ideally JDK17+) and strong backend fundamentals. - 4+ years building microservices and scalable cloud-based products, preferably on AWS. - Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, security standards, versioning, and management. - Proficiency with SpringBoot, Hibernate, Redis/Memcached, Kafka; relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL); Docker/Kubernetes; and modern CI/CD practices. - Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and automated integration testing (WireMock
