JAPANMART is seeking a Sushi/Kitchen Team Lead to support daily operations in our sushi and prepared foods section in Arcadia, California. This full-time position (36-40 hours per week) requires flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include supervising sushi preparation and food assembly to JAPANMART quality standards, following guidance from the Executive Chef, and assisting with analyzing and reporting on Profit & Loss (P&L). Responsibilities also include preparing ingredients, portioning and cutting raw fish, and preparing menu items such as onigiri, soufflé pancakes, unagi bowls, and other JAPANMART offerings; maintaining consistent quality and timely service; monitoring cooking times, food quality, and adherence to brand standards; ensuring food safety, sanitation, proper temperatures, storage, cross-contamination prevention, and health department compliance; operating kitchen equipment safely; assisting with packaging, labeling, restocking, and inventory checks; maintaining clean and organized workstations and storage; assisting with opening/closing procedures and ensuring efficient operations during peak times; collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication; delivering friendly, professional customer service; and performing additional duties as needed.
