Role overview: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Systems to own cloud cost efficiency and drive FinOps initiatives across the engineering organization. You will contribute to technical design and implementation while treating cost as a first‑class engineering concern, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing environment where engineers can grow and thrive. This role ensures we run our platform with the same discipline we apply to our customers. Responsibilities include owning cloud cost efficiency end‑to‑end, providing technical leadership to socialize the FinOps mindset, designing and managing scalable cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, and related technologies, collaborating with our AI team to optimize data pipelines and remove bottlenecks, refactoring systems for scalability by transforming stateful components into stateless ones and applying autoscaling and auto‑repair, driving platform reliability through alerting, health checks, and incident management, ensuring rigorous testing and security standards, and participating in on‑call rotations to meet SLAs.
