Apple is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with Applied AI expertise to advance Manufacturing Systems and Operations in Cupertino, California, United States (on-site). The role involves rapidly prototyping ideas and experimenting with new approaches to solve production problems, leveraging the latest large language models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, Llama, and custom fine-tuned models. You will collaborate across multiple organizations and functional roles to develop solutions that are deployed to production and scaled, sometimes as standalone components and other times integrated with existing systems. The applications you build will be used daily by Manufacturing Design Engineers, Product Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Supply Chain Managers, as well as our suppliers, and you will work closely with them to design and architect solutions that address the challenges of manufacturing the highest quality hardware products.
