We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Simulation & Synthetic Data team in Munich, Germany with a hybrid work arrangement. You will be at the heart of our autonomy stack, building virtual worlds that train our robotic systems to navigate real environments and accelerating how perception and autonomy software learn, adapt, and perform in challenging off-road conditions. Responsibilities include building rich, realistic simulation environments for autonomous off-road vehicles, generating high-fidelity synthetic sensor data (cameras and LiDAR) to train perception algorithms, and crafting complex virtual scenarios such as dense forests, rugged terrain, and adverse weather to push our systems. You will also develop data augmentation and domain randomization pipelines to improve model robustness, implement Sim2Real strategies, and integrate simulation modules with our ROS/ROS2 robotics stack. Collaboration with AI and robotics teams is essential to continuously enhance synthetic data quality and speed up model development.
