Altruist is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to secure our multi-account AWS and Kubernetes environment. You will build guardrails and controls to harden our cloud platform as we scale. This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles, California, with three days per week on-site. Responsibilities include hardening AWS (IAM, org/SCPs, KMS, networking), securing Kubernetes/EKS, implementing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, and using CSPM tooling (e.g., Wiz). You will own cloud vulnerability and exposure management and partner with Detection & Response on investigations of cloud-origin events.

4+ years of experience in cloud security engineering
Hands-on AWS experience (IAM, organizations, SCPs, KMS, networking)
Kubernetes/EKS security experience
Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and CSPM tooling (e.g., Wiz)
Scripting and automation (Python/Go)
Education: BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent experience
Technical aptitude to learn modern tech stacks (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, etc.)
Ownership mindset and strong communication skills
Experience in regulated environments (fintech/financial services)
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, CKS)
