You will be the technical lead of Moon's core platform, responsible for identity and authentication, multi-entity tenancy, the entitlements engine, payments and financing APIs, cross-platform messaging services, and the databases that power all modules. You will supervise a small, senior platform team with the Senior Engineering Manager and Principal Engineer, focusing on reliability, data architecture, and contracts that let small teams ship continuously without breaks.

What you'll do: - Lead the design and build of core services: identity, tenancy, entitlements, payments and financing APIs, and messaging buses; manage shared services such as email, SMS, voice, and the client database. - Own database architecture and performance; uphold demanding reliability commitments. - Enforce contract-first API discipline: versioned APIs, clean deprecation windows, and backwards-compatible changes. - Enforce engineering standards via code reviews across the application, including proper use of the design system via Storybook. - Mentor the team’s engineers; encode critical business rules as CI-enforced invariants.

Qualifications: - 7+ years of backend engineering with distributed systems in production. - Deep database and API design experience; payments or fintech integration experience a strong plus. - Has been the technical lead others calibrate against. - Pragmatic architecture instincts; ships.
