You will directly manage a team of software engineers, own all aspects of a system roadmap—from prioritization to delivery—and provide strong technical leadership to develop highly reliable software for Starship manufacturing and Starlink operations. Responsibilities include leading engineers, prioritizing work, delivering against program goals, and collaborating with department leaders to ensure SpaceX’s success. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a science discipline and 3+ years of software development experience, or 6+ years of professional software experience in lieu of a degree; 1+ years of object-oriented programming; 1+ years of experience leading software teams or projects. PREFERRED SKILLS: Programming in Python, C#, .NET, Go, Java, or similar object-oriented languages; frontend experience with Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks; experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar databases; 4+ years building single-page web applications; expertise in software system design, testing and infrastructure, and performance optimization; domain knowledge in manufacturing systems; strong mentoring and collaboration abilities.
