Overview: We are seeking a Junior Software Developer with a backend focus to join a fast-paced, highly collaborative team supporting a critical microservices ecosystem. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with poly and is based in Columbia, Maryland, United States; all applicants must reside in the United States.

What you will do: Develop and maintain high-performance Java microservice web applications within a modern distributed ecosystem. Collaborate with the Technical Lead to make architectural decisions, solve complex design problems, and help shape the product roadmap. Engage directly with customers and operators to troubleshoot issues, gather feedback, and propose innovative new features. Ensure quality through end-to-end testing, continuous integration, and deployment of production-ready applications.

What you need to have: 3+ years of software engineering experience with a technical degree, or 7+ years substituting additional engineering experience in place of a Bachelor's degree. Core Java expertise with hands-on design and debugging. Experience building RESTful web applications using Spring Boot. Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL/relational databases. Practical experience writing and executing automated tests to ensure code reliability.

What we'd like you to have: Full-Stack capabilities using modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js), experience with Apache Kafka, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Linux administration, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
