Senior Backend Engineer – Identity Team, Bellevue, WA (On-site)

Epic Games is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Identity team, supporting login, sign-up, session management, safety and privacy controls, developer integrations, and family management features across Epic's online services. You will contribute to a universal platform that enables players and developers to connect accounts across ecosystems and devices, while powering experiences for games like Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys.

What you'll do: - Design, build, and operate secure, scalable backend services and web applications from end-to-end - Work with distributed systems handling large-scale challenges (Java/Scala) and public cloud infrastructure (AWS) - Own the lifecycle of services, including live operations and deployment - Implement user flows for sign-in, sign-up, account management, and related features - Collaborate with upstream/downstream service owners, producers, cloud and DevOps engineers - Use SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Dynamo, Redis) and integrate front-end flows with backend services

What we're looking for: - 4+ years of experience building secure, scalable web applications - Backend experience with Java or similar language - Front-end experience with modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) - Experience with AWS and cloud technologies - Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
