About the role

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a software architect and debugger to shape the Driver Experience domain for Daimler Truck brands. You will lead the software architecture development for a new HMI ECU (Instrument Cluster) in collaboration with a global development team, delivering forward-thinking, robust, and maintainable solutions across all Daimler Truck brands. In this role you will be involved in ideation, architecture, prototyping, validation, and release. The Driver Experience team focuses on digital in-truck solutions and collaborates with design, engineering, and product strategy teams worldwide. The position offers a starting salary range of $117,000–$150,000 USD, with compensation dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

Responsibilities

Knowledge and experience:

Lead software architecture and feature development decisions.
Define and govern a scalable software architecture.
Support pre-analysis of defects: identify root causes and implement fixes in prototype builds.
For critical defects: provide debug data and implement fixes in prototype builds.
Collaborate with the software-defined vehicle project team to develop consistent concepts.
Work with a diverse team of designers, UI/UX experts, feature owners, project teams, and developers located in Germany, India, and the United States.
Coach and mentor team members on development methodologies and execution.
Create documentation, reports, and presentations.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field; 5–7 years of relevant experience.
3+ years
