Based in San Francisco, this hybrid role collaborates with the Product Manager and the engineering team to translate visualization strategy into shipped features, raise the bar on visualization quality and performance, and mentor engineers working on the visualization stream. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years at a senior level, with deep experience in data visualization and a strong portfolio of shipped visualization work. Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript, experience with data or business intelligence tools (SQL, Looker, Tableau, Mode, Amplitude, Google Analytics), and familiarity with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) are highly valued. Nice to have startup experience, data product development, and familiarity with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift. Our stack includes JavaScript/TypeScript, React with Remix, Kotlin/Java, AWS, Vega / Vega-Lite / Echarts.
