Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)
SpaceX is seeking an Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer for the Starlink satellites at our Redmond, Washington facility. This role sits at the intersection of electrical, mechanical, thermal analysis, software, and antenna engineering, ensuring that satellite hardware can withstand the harsh space environment and maintain global communications.
You will work on sub-teams within the Starlink hardware engineering group at Redmond, including Gateways, Hardware Test and Automation, Failure Analysis, and On-Orbit Reliability. You will collaborate with disciplines such as high-speed digital systems, network integration, power electronics, RF, avionics, and software, with team placement determined during the interview process based on technical fit and preferences. Sub-teams include: - Gateways: design, build, and test electronics for the world’s largest network of ground stations. - Hardware Test and Automation: design validation from concept to production. - Failure Analysis: root cause analysis to improve product quality. - On-Orbit Reliability: monitor satellite electronics health in orbit and lead anomaly investigations.
