BigBear.ai is seeking a Data Engineer to design, implement, and operate data management systems for intelligence needs. The successful candidate will determine how data is stored, accessed, and integrated across data regimes and digital systems, and will work with data users to create optimal data architectures, structures, and pipelines. This position is based in Washington, D.C. or the greater National Capital Region (NCR) and offers an opportunity to contribute to a new program supporting a Department of War (DoW) customer. What you will do: Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance; participate in selecting backend database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.), configure them, and optimize the full data pipeline to support content, volume, ETL, and the required responsiveness of queries and analyses. What you need to have: TS/SCI clearance with a poly (or the ability to obtain one); Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field; 3–8 years of experience conducting data engineering analyses (an additional 4 years may substitute for the education requirement); demonstrable experience with data engineering tools (SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.) and a thorough understanding of ETL processes.
