Verato, the identity intelligence experts, is seeking a Hybrid Controller to own the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across US and international entities. This role supports a fast-growing SaaS business within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment and is responsible for GAAP-compliant financials, audit readiness, and scalable processes as the company grows. Based at Verato HQ in McLean, VA, the Controller will manage the accounting team and serve as the primary contact for audits, tax, and technical accounting matters. Key responsibilities include owning monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles (target close within 5–7 business days); managing ASC 606 revenue recognition for subscription/SaaS contracts; consolidating international subsidiaries, intercompany eliminations, FX translation, and local tax coordination; maintaining robust internal controls and segregation of duties; leading external audits and SOC 2/HITRUST support; managing AP, AR, payroll, treasury, cash management, and banking relationships; partnering with FP&A on budget-to-actual variance and accruals; drafting technical accounting memos (revenue recognition, ASC 350-40 capitalization, ASC 842 leases, ASC 718 equity); overseeing tax compliance across US states and international jurisdictions; driving process improvements and technology implementations to streamline operations; building and mentoring a lean team; ensuring ERP and billing system integrity and accuracy of customer entitlements data.
