Contract Freight Account Manager is responsible for providing superior customer service to assigned accounts while managing all related activities. The role includes customer support, load tenders, status updates, and other operational functions for stakeholders. You will build strong relationships with capacity providers to meet load goals and drive revenue growth within existing accounts. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of accounts as the primary contact for operations and service; developing customer relationships to support retention and growth; overseeing daily transportation operations to ensure loads are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements; ensuring adequate capacity; monitoring shipment performance and addressing service disruptions; analyzing performance metrics and implementing improvements; managing account-level financial activities including pricing, rate negotiations, and accessorial approvals; maintaining operational records and system data; collaborating with internal teams and external partners; participating in testing and implementation of new technologies and processes; adapting workflows to incorporate new tools and initiatives; representing the Account Management function to visitors and partners.
